Sports-related Injuries

Most sports-related injuries are caused by trauma or overuse of muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints. The majority are caused by minor trauma that leads to contusions (bruises), sprains and strains. Because physical therapists have training in biomechanics and kinesiology, our team can help you return to playing sports with decreased pain and decreased risk of injury.

Work-related Injuries

Back strain and repetitive strain injuries are common on-the-job injuries. The approach to treating work-related conditions: return an individual to his or her previous level of on-the-job activity as quickly and as safely as possible. Our physical therapists can rehabilitate you and help you learn how to perform your job activities with decreased risk of injury.

Outpatient Physical Therapy

Rehabilitation is performed on an outpatient basis and is overseen by your physician and physical therapist.

Rehabilitation programs include physical therapy: complete evaluations to determine the cause of your problem; exercise programs to stretch and strengthen; conditioning exercises to help prevent further injury; hot or cold applications; equipment training; braces, splints; pain management; and patient and family education.
